An experience to remember at Cambridge United

It might not have been the result against Exeter City that the U's fans were hoping for, and the weather didn't exactly play ball, but there was a special moment just before kick-off. Having won the Cambridge United Lottery Must Win Money Can't Buy prize and the opportunity to present the matchball to the referee, Philip donated his prize to Isla Broom, daughter of our web developer Chris. Isla enjoyed her time down pitchside with Chris and grandad Bob as they awaited the teams and then handed the ball to referee Carl Brook. Isla, Chris and Bob then took their complimentary seats in the Main Stand to watch the game.

After the match, Chris commented: 'We all had a fantastic time, even though the result went against us and the weather was far from ideal. It was Isla's first experience of a professional football match and she enjoyed it so much that she'd like to come back again. Thank you to Carl Badcock from the Lottery for arranging everything, and to Philip for donating his prize.'
